Floating dock available for boat tie-up, electricity and lights.  Dock house w/mini fridge.  There are 2 kayaks and a paddleboard available for tenant use.  Sorry, covered boat slip & hoist not available for tenant use.

PLEASE NOTE:
If you are placing your reservation thru VRBO or one of the Expedia channels and your anticipated visit is more than 90 days away, you will see 2 separate charges within 72 hours of placing your booking.  The first charge will be the VRBO Service Fee* and the second charge will be $200 which is collected by Lake Retreat Rental Properties, LLC.  From that point on, additional payments will be made directed to Lake Retreat Rental Properties, LLC.

CANCELLATION POLICY: If a reservation is cancelled with at least 90 days prior notice, 1/2 of the pre-paid rental payment will be refundable. If a reservation is cancelled within 90 days of your arrival date, no refunds will be issued. Notice of cancellation must be in writing, email is acceptable. Be sure to reference the rented property name and dates you had intended to visit.

MOUNTAIN VIEW SHORES is a lovely development with many year-round homes, it features a private boat ramp area where you may park your boat trailer for the duration of your stay. It has paved roads and central water system. Ideal for walkers and joggers. Lake location is supreme being near the mountain and the dam at the deepest, cleanest part of the lake. The land was originally owned by the Appalachian Power Company (which owns the lake) and a group of 10 investors from Bedford bought the land from the Power Company in the late 1970's and developed the subdivision comprised of over 400 lots, offering the land for sale one section per year, selling out in 4 years.

This house was the perfect size for our family of 8. It has been remodeled beautifully, and the kitchen is well-stocked. The location is amazing with mountain views right off of the dock and across from the dam where there is less boat traffic. The dock is a fantastic hangout spot and only a short stairway from the back door. The lakehouse rental company is very responsive and friendly, and Parkway Marina is right around the bend for boat rentals. We'll definitely be back for future family vacations!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. It is furnished beautifully and everything you need for a fun week is provided! The views from the decks and porches are wonderful and cooler in the afternoon and evening since they don't face west. We probably used the screened in porch off of the kitchen the most as it was where we enjoyed morning coffee, games with grandkids and dinner every evening. Cooking was a pleasure in the spacious and well appointed kitchen. It was very helpful to have 2 refrigerators. The dock is great if you are bringing your own boat. We spent many hours on the lake swimming, tubing, wake surfing etc... The lake is really quiet where this home is located, there is not as much boat traffic as some other areas. This home was great for our crew that consisted of 3 adult couples and 2 grandchildren. I would highly recommend this property and would happily stay here again.

We spent five glorious days at Off The Bow with our children and grandchildren during a family vacation. The home was so beautifully decorated, we felt like we were living in a magazine dream! The view of the lake was OMG gorgeous! From the front door to the dock, the home was well equipped with everything that we needed to make our stay easy, enjoyable and entertaining! We would, absolutely, stay at this property on a future visit to Smith Mountain Lake!

Everything was perfect for our stay. From the layout of the home to the views from the balcony and dock. A perfect location to stay for our sons’ graduations from Liberty University. Only downside was we couldn’t stay longer! We truly enjoyed every moment.

 Off the Bow was a terrific lake rental. The home is clean, bright and very nicely designed and furnished. The lower level is almost as nice as the main level! It has terrific views of the lake and mountain, and access to the dock from the house is close and without too many steps. The dock furniture, use of the kayaks, paddle board and the dock house really contributed to an enjoyable stay. We will definitely stay at Off the Bow again.

We had a great weekend at Smith Mountain Lake. The house seems all brand new inside and has Amazing views of the lake, the damn and the mountains. Can't wait to go back!
