Lake Affect

July 2024 - This was our 5^th year booking through Lake Retreat Properties and our 2^nd year staying at Lake Affect. We love the location of this property and the landscaping is lovely. The house has a nice layout, fully stocked kitchen, large bedrooms, and a full-sized refrigerator in the dock house.  It would be nice to have two floating docks but we were able to manage both our boats without too much trouble. I would stay here again without any hesitation. Thank you for another year of smooth transactions, from pre-booking, final payment, friendly staff, clean house, and quick and easy check in and check out procedures, you guys are fantastic! July 2025- Your decor is impeccable. Love the waterfall stream. Beds are comfortable.  June 2024- We love your beautiful home. All The water was clean and warm! June 2024- Amazing home! Thank you for sharing your home. -July 2023 As always the Lake Retreat team was a pleasure to deal with (start to finish)!   Lake Affect was one of the most beautiful properties we’ve stayed in.   The house was perfect and the landscaping and dock were out of a dream world!  We’ll most certainly be back to Lake Affect!! -July 2023 We had a wonderful time at Lake Affect! The home was warm and welcoming, views were beautiful, and the landscaped yard and amazing dock were perfect for enjoying the scenery! The staff at Lake Retreat were so helpful and made the whole process from rental to check in and check out easy. Highly recommend!  -June 2023  We loved the location of Lake Affect. It's nestled near the end of a cove but still has great views of the lake. The landscaping around the house is awesome. We enjoyed the small water ponds and the sounds of the water trickling over the rocks.It also created a habitat for tree frogs and at night they created the perfect ambiance. On rainy days we enjoyed the hot tub and having a full sized refrigerator at the dock house was an added bonus. We found the house to be extremely comfortable and the layout was perfect for our family. We made use of the grill which was nice to have. We typically love winding down the day next to a campfire roasting s'mores but the majority of our week it rained. The fire pit area is really nice and we wished that we could have used it more. We would definitely recommend this house to our friends and family members and look forward to booking it again soon. -October 2022 Lake Affect was so beautiful! Loved the spaciousness and amenities. We used the SUPs and kayaks in the cove. We enjoyed the cornhole game the host provided, as well as the hammock and pool table. The hot tub was great, and without the bubbles going, you can hear the lovely water feature that runs along that side of the property. Views from the windows on the main level are so nice. The double-sided fireplace was great on the chilly nights. Lake Retreat rental team was so helpful to work with, too. -September 2022 My family had an excellent stay at Lake Affect, spending five days there over the Labor Day holiday. From top to bottom, this house is excellent. We had no issues with our stay, and would definitely recommend to others / keep it as an option for our next visit to SML. Pros: Modern, well appointed home Boat house / dock - beautiful location, plenty of seating, bar w/TV. One of the highlights of the home. Kitchen - huge, plenty of space to cook / store food. Basement - pool table was a hit, as was the bar / TV combo there as well Hot tub - brand new and a great way to wind down your day Cons: None to really speak of. The only potential drawback is a minimally equipped cookware set in the kitchen; however, we expect this in rental properties The check-in / check-out process was excellent as well. Quick and easy, the staff was helpful in answering the questions I had. In short, we would highly recommend this rental team and property.
